Family Portrait
in Green Bay, WI
Ernesto painted Family Portrait for the City of Green Bay as a part of their Shipyard Redevelopment Project.
The mural is located at the Mason Street underpass along the Fox River.
The mural is painted on both sides of the underpass’s pillars.
The street-facing side features a deer and black bear, while the back-side features a Canadian lynx and red fox.
Both sides are framed with weaver birds and organic elements.
Ernesto painted an additional pillar with a ruby-crowned kinglet perched on a branch.
The animals painted can be found in the area surrounding Green Bay.
Each pillar features an animal’s portrait, which shows each creature’s beauty while also highlighting the area’s natural habitat.
The mural project is in collaboration with other artists, including Yulia Avgustinovich, Mz. Icar and DON RIMX.
The Shipyard Redevelopment Project will also include a riverfront promenade, floating dock, fishing pier, habitat enhancement, and an accessible kayak launch.
